Dreams
I read this post by Seth Godin and it really got me thinking.
What are your dreams? The American dream has now become the Global Dream. Big House, multiple cars, wealth, health, prestige, and indulgence. But is that really your dream? I mean really? And when did we as believers buy the American Dream at the expense of God’s dream?
Joseph dreamed. He dreamed he would rule a pack of nomads in the foothills of nowhere. Because he thought his dream was about him. God’s plan was for him to rule the world. But don’t miss the point here. The PURPOSE behind the dream was for God to bring salvation to Joseph’s generation. It was not for him to rule. That was the vehicle God chose.
Christians have bought the lie that self actualization is the penultimate purpose of the believer. And we’ve sacrificed our dreams on the altar of small-minded selfishness. Where are the people who dream of giving their lives away? Of earning honor and glory beyond the grave, and leading many sons to Glory?
Re-evaluating my dreams… thanks Seth.

One of the most haunting dreams I've ever heard of: An air traffic controller, who was on duty in the NYC area on 9/11, has had a recurrent dream...as in reality, she watches one of the flights which was destined to hit the building. But in the dream, she reaches her hand into the screen and scoops out the airplane and all the people in it
