Your doubt is not the edge of faith.

The edge of faith

Another megachurch pastors decides that he is comfortable at the edge of faith, not where Orthodoxy kills.

Forgive me, but I don’t think you know the definition of faith. I don’t think you have any idea. Orthodoxy is the place where people are killed for the “faith” you so easily doubt.

Doubt isn’t the edge. It’s the center. The center of the lie “Did God really say?”

The idea that being edgy is where truth lies is in itself a lazy lie. That doubt and disbelief while sipping your $5 extra wet double venti somehow validates your journey. Forgive me while I throw up in my mouth.

When we throw out orthodoxy, when we remove the disgrace of the cross, the pain of the incarnation, the very reason for the incarnation, we don’t discover truth. We walk away. Intentionally. Actively. And bankrupt the faith of those who live between the side of the road and the fields of God grace.

So don’t tell me about the edges. The edges are where the orthodox are. The ones who love their enemies. The ones who die rather than renounce. The ones who did not count their lives are more worthy than His. They have truly found the edge of faith. And its very Orthodox.
